We All Know Someone
This November I hope to celebrate my 46th ‘Alcohol Free’ birthday with a coffee, or two, with some close family and friends. I am not alone in my recovery journey, we all know someone that needs our help and support.
The Voices of Recovery Charter, a new initiative from Alcohol Action Ireland, is led by people in long-term recovery. Our vision is to reduce alcohol harm and remove the shame and stigma surrounding alcohol use disorder.
I would like to share with you this excellent video, from Taking Action on Addiction, about normalising conversations about addiction. This can be across families, friendship groups and workplaces. It really hits home why the Voices of Recovery initiative is so important.
Celebrate With Us
The original 10 signatories of the Voices of Recovery Charter have accumulated over 200 years of continuous alcohol free recovery.
In celebration, we invite you on Friday, 24th November at 8PM to St Catherine’s Church in Thomas St, The Liberties, Dublin 8, D08 DNA7 where the Dublin Gospel Choir (and guests) will kick off the Dublin launch of The Voices of Recovery.
To secure your name on the guest list simply book your ticket: €10 (€5 concession).
