The Story behind Valentine’s Eve
It’s that time of year again when love is in the air and you might want to share your blessings by supporting “Sophia’s Wish to Walk” appeal.
This is a story about a young girl named Sophia who suffers from cerebral palsy. She lives in Newbridge along with her parents Laura, Adrian and her younger sister.
Her dream is to walk and live pain free.
She is preparing to go to the Children’s Hospital in St. Louis USA, under the care of Dr. Park.
At the end of March she will undergo an operation known as SDR. To date Dr. Park has performed over 4000 surgeries with many life changing outcomes. In fact, whilst Sophia is in hospital she has to have two operations over a six week period.
Sophia’s challenge is awesome by any standard but this little girl has embraced it like a young warrior goddess that she is.
My challenge is to help get her to the hospital on time for the 31st March 2022.
The cost to do so is a staggering €130,000 (including aftercare and rehab) with no financial support available from any state agency.
The good news is that as a result of the Herculean work of family and friends she has already raised just over €78,000, to date.
So here is where you can help
