Celtic Kindness comes to Donegal
On 1st & 2nd June I will reunite with Celtic Grace™ to preform an interactive, musical experience of Georgian Ireland. We will be raising money towards the restoration of The Oratory’s thatched roof. The venue is somewhat spectacular with its stained glass windows and curved, beamed ceiling and sits in a truly magical space located in the Celtic Prayer Garden, Muff, Donegal.
‘Celtic Kindness’: True Musical Story set in 17th Century Georgian Ireland
Based on historically accurate events, this unique one and a half hour show was created to celebrate the incredible true life story of the iconic, blind harper, Turlough O’Carolan. Narrated by myself and woven together with the impeccable Celtic Baroque music that Turlough created, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient Ireland as Celtic Grace™ perform his inimitable exquisite Celtic baroque, live on flute and harp, dressed in lavish, locally-made, Georgian costumes.
Our show has already delighted audiences in Belfast, Dublin and Ardee who describe it as “Brilliant”, “Uplifting”, “Beautiful”, “Inspiring” and “Magical”. The signature Celtic Baroque music composed by O’Carolan, over 350 years ago, is still revered in Ireland and across the globe. Discerning listeners regard it as some of the finest music ever composed. A feast for the eyes, bliss for the ears and a banquet of history for your mind. A phenomenal experience for locals and visitors alike.
From tragedy to triumph
Below is a short introduction which captures the essence of Turlough O’Carolan’s story, ‘Celtic Kindness’.
