End the Silence
One of my passion projects is being on the board of directors for Alcohol Action Ireland where we help increase awareness and reduce the negative impact that harmful alcohol consumption has on this country. For one week in October Alcohol Action Ireland’s initiative, Silent Voices, are highlighting family traumas that come with parental problem alcohol use (PPAU).
Currently at least 200,000 children in Ireland suffer from PPAU and a further 400,000 adults are living with its legacy – emotional, mental and physical health problems.
Join us for End The Silence week, October 17-21 where you’ll find events and discussions on PPAU in the hope of broadening Ireland’s understanding of this topic and to help those effected begin their healing journey.
